There are some times when God lavishes grace on a person. We should be grateful for such times, but we should also be alert against a certain risk. The risk is this: that we translate a sense of grace into a sense of entitlement.
You cannot earn grace and so you cannot expect it (on the basis of merit). Grace must be accepted with enormous but contrite gratitude. The moment we allow grace to be experienced as entitlement is the moment we move from gratitude to arrogance. Such arrogance is dangerous beyond words.
