Faith is the expression of the entire person. It is a unity of the body, soul and spirit; it is a unity of the whole. If you have faith in your mind, but not in your body, it is “faith without works”, and so it is dead. If you have faith in your body and mind, but not in your spirit, it is mere presumption. There is a proper sequence: Faith originates in your spirit, it must be accepted with your mind, and then enacted with your body. Authentic faith is not a gnostic formulation. It is not an exercise in positive thinking. It is trusting a person, the person of Christ, with your whole person.
