Great successes are typically built upon the foundation of great failures. Great failures are very important in the life of a leader. Had Apple done reasonably well under Skully and his successors, Steve Jobs would never have had the opportunity to come back. It was Apple, failing, on the verge of bankruptcy, which produced opportunity. Great leaders see great opportunity within failure. The average person sees only the failure. What others see as the collapse of (past) opportunity, a leader sees as the genesis of (new) opportunity.
