I think Newton serves as an inspiration for what I am trying to accomplish in God’s Kingdom. He’s an unlikely prototype, but I find his life inspiring. His incredible passion for the intellectual quest translates well for me. It would be strange that I find my personal inspiration from Newton, but nevertheless, something about his life parallels my deep need to understand God. There is a questing. There is a passion. There is a torture. There is a living worship in the midst of it all. His work inspires me to press on, to press still deeper.
