It is not the bad employees who hurt you; it is the “almost-good” employees. You recognize the poor performing employees and you make steps to correct them. It is hard to see the other class of employee, and so they continue to produce sub-standard results. Their damage is more insidious; it is more difficult to detect. The leader must be on guard against the “almost-good” employee.
