On the Ultimate and Ultimate Fulfillment

I want to believe that there is ultimate. The very possibility of the ultimate is life changing in its potential, but my pursuit of the ultimate should not prevent ultimate fulfillment. One must factor in the possibility that there is no “engaged” ultimate. There may not be the ultimate, or from the standpoint of (practical experience) there might as well not be the ultimate (as the ultimate is not engaged). The possibility of either point, or any variation of these two points, also impacts my life choices.
